Can I assign all available resources to a project automatically?
If you have the Approval Management module you cannot. The reason is simple, if you have 5 available resources, chances are that they all have different skills, hence, assigning all 5 resources automatically would create a situation where some resources are assigned to projects where they cannot work on, and you would have to manually "un-assign" them from the project. On the other hand, if you do not have the Approval Management module all resources are automatically given access to all projects.

I want to decide who have access to projects, how do I do that?

If you want to decide who have access to a particular project, you will have to enable or get the Approval Management module.  The approval Management module lets you setup users with different user levels.  In addition, you can also decide who have access to what project.  To know what else you can do with the Approval Management module click here.

How do I know who logged onto the system and when?
In the Administrative Console, you have access to several logs, one of which will show you who logged into the system, from where, and when.

Can I export my reports to other file formats like Excel?
Yes, you can export Acrobat, Excel, TIFF,  and Rich Text file formats.

How can I see which issues are resolved?
Yes, in the issue management system you can filter by "Resolved" and "Un-Resolved" issues.

How many tasks can I have in a project?
There is no limit to the number of tasks you can add in a project.

Why can I not choose a task in My Active Tasks? (Only applies if you have the Approval Management Module)
There are two reasons why you cannot choose a task in the My Active Task. One reason could be that the task has not been approved by the Project Manager. Task must be approved and time tracking must be set to Yes (done by the Project Manager) before you can work on it. Another reason could be that you checked the checkbox "Show My Scheduled Tasks" and you are not scheduled to work on the task you want.

Why is it so important to assign the correct task type?
If you do not set the correct task type, then your system will be giving out wrong data in reports using the task types such as the Enterprise Time report.

How do I set a task to finished?

Tasks are automatically finished when there are not remaining hours.  Remaining hours are set in the Project Console.  See knowledge-based article form or information on this subject.

How do I search in 3f Project 2006?
Throughout the system you may search for tasks, issues, Job ID's etc.  Choose search from the menu to load the form where you may enter your search criteria.

For how long is data kept for statistical purposes?
Data are kept in the system for as long as the system lives.

When should I use Non Project Tasks?
Non Project Tasks are tasks that are not directly related to a project but can be worked on by different people in your organization. A typical non project task in a company general research, accounting, schooling or seminars. You can modify existing non project tasks or add your own.

What happens if I do not use the Gantt diagram?
Nothing other than if you don't use the Gantt Diagram, you won't have a visual representation for tracking the progress of the project tasks. Using the Gantt Diagram enables you to do a more detailed planning of your resources (e.g., manpower).

What is a floating error test case? (Only applies if you have the Test Management Module)
A floating error test case is a system test case that is set up once an issue has been resolved. The idea is that as issues are resolved, they are entered into the floating test case so that the person responsible for testing knows when to test a particular issue. Furthermore, it assures that resolved issues are tested for quality assurance purposes.

What happens if I lose the top-level administrator password?
If you lose your top-level administrator password, then you have a real problem. The top-level password cannot be recovered because all passwords are encrypted.

I know that the software I licensed is locked to the computer/server I installed it in, but what should I do if I want to move it to another computer/server?
Since the software is locked to the computer in which you have installed it, you will have to send us an un-registration key and request a new key each time you move the software. The un-registration key is our proof that the software was in fact uninstalled.

What is the difference between an Enterprise Manager and a top-level administrator?
An Enterprise Manager is a person who, by default, has access to all projects, statistics, etc. in the system. The Enterprise Manager can create projects, set up user accounts, delete user accounts, etc.

A top-level administrator is the person who, at any time, can get into the system even if all the accounts have been disabled.

For example, you have an Enterprise Manager who finds out that he or she will be laid off and so decides to do harm to the company by disabling all accounts or change all logins and password. In a situation like this, the top-level administrator can always log onto the system and bring all the accounts in order by using the top-level administrator account. Always remember to change the top level administrator password by logging in using the following credentials:

Login: Administrator

Password: 123
