This article
explains how you can set the server session time out for 3f Project 2006. The longer the session timeout the longer the program will remain
open even if it is not used. In this article the screenshots were taken
form a Windows 2003 server, if you use a Windows 2000 server the screens
varies slightly from these but the general principles are the same.
Prerequisites
You have 3f Project 2006 version 3.2
or higher installed on your Windows 2000
or 2003 Server.

Log into your server as an administrator.
Next opened the Internet Information
Services Manager. Locate the web
site where you have installed 3f Project 2006, by default it is the
Default Web Site. This may have been
manually changed after the installation!
Step 1.
Open the web site node so that you can see
the IPlan virtual directory is shown in
the image below.

Step 2.
Right click the Iplan virtual directory
then choose Properties from the mouse
menu.

Step 3.
In the subsequent dialogbox locate the
Configuration button. Click this
button and go to step 4.

Step 4.
From the new dialogbox select the Options
Then check the Enable sessions state
checkbox. Finally, into the number
of minutes you want a session to stay
alive. In the example below, we have
enter 180 minutes which basically means
that the program will stay alive for 180
minutes without being used. If the
program is not used for say 200 minutes,
the user will be prompted to log in.
Note The longer you set the
sessions state time out the more system
resources are required on the server!
