The task list in the project management
system
is the central place where all project
tasks are added. There is no limited to
the number of tasks a project. Tasks can
be group together with similar tasks. You
can also upload project files for each
task by clicking the "upload" icon
displayed next to the task. In addition
each tasks has it's own discussion forum
letting team members participate in a
discussion forum without being distracted
by un related information.
If you have the optional
Gantt
diagram module the tasks listed in the
task list will be identical to the tasks
listed in the Gantt diagram.
For each task you can do a work break
down. A work breakdown simplifies the
process of estimating the time needed for
a task. The image below shows a simple
breakdown of a pre-project planning task.
Using work breakdown
will greatly enhance
the accuracy of time estimation. The image
below shows "Pending", "Approved" and
"Allow Time Tracking". These are features
used in the
Approval Management module to manage
whether a task has been approved or not as
well as if the time may be tracked against
the task. If you do not have the
Approval Management module tasks are
automatically approved upon entry and time
can be tracked on all tasks.
