The approval management module adds a new dimension to the project management system by introducing multiple roles (user levels), task approval, timesheet approval and general requests approval. This module is designed for enterprises with the needs for a more procedural and structured working environment. The Approval Management module is normally added to 3f Project 2006 when a company grows to 3 or 4 employees (full time or freelancer).

 

User roles

Approval Management gives you 3 different roles, Enterprise Manager, Project Manager and Project Member. System access can be restricted by assigning a lower role to the resource.

 

Approval Management Overview

The approval system is centralized in one page from where a Project Manager can make all the necessary approvals. The Project Manager has a clear overview of all pending approvals whether it's tasks, timesheets or general approvals. As soon as a new task is added or a timesheet is submitted it will be listed on this page.

 

 

Task approval management

When a user with a Project Member role add a new task this task is not automatically ready for time tracking. It must be approved by the Project Manager (or any Enterprise Manger) first. During the approval process the Project Manager can make changes to the task and re-estimate the hours needed to complete the task or of course reject the task all together.

 

 

Timesheet approval

Projects can be setup to enforce timesheet approval or they can bet setup so that there is no approval. If a project is configured to enforce timesheet approval the Project Manager (or any Enterprise Manager) can adjust the billable and non-billable hours upon approval. You can setup any mix you want, one project has timesheet approval in place, the next does not.
