First license free! Subsequent licenses US$49.00 per license for self hosting, or US$15.00 per user, per month for hosting.

The base module contains all the functionalities you need to efficiently manage any type of project. With this module you can enter tasks, track time, manage project issues and get reports outlining how much time has been spend on a project.

The base module is a prerequisite for any of the optional project management modules

Task List

Projects are planned by setting up tasks in the task list by anyone with access to the system. Once a task has been added this task is automatically ready for time tracking.

There is no enforced limited for the number of tasks you can add in a project. Many customers have projects with over 100 tasks.

Gantt Diagram

The Gantt diagram module is used go graphically plan and schedule projects. In addition the Gantt diagram module also let you schedule resources and in the process create a work schedule which you or the individual resources can print or export to Excel, Word etc.

You can also load multiple projects in Gantt diagram simultaneously enabling you to link task in one project with tasks in another project.

Task - Resource Assignment

Assigning resources to a task is done by choosing the resource(s) to be assigned to the task during task creation. From then on, the assigned resource can see his or her assigned tasks from the My Assigned Tasks under the My Workspace node.

Time Entry

Easily enter the time you've worked on a task, then submit your timesheet.

Issue Management

Complete system to keep track of project issues. Issues can be grouped, categorized and printed. You can also import or export issues as XML for easy collaboration with others using the same system.

Project Grouping

This versatile report allows you to group project together from different clients.  The report will show you the number of hours gone into a project. There is no limit to the number project groups that can be setup, and the same project can be a member of multiple project groups. This report is ideal if you have a main project and multiple subprojects because it can give you a complete overview of all the projects together.

Time Report

This report shows the number of reported hours on the active project. The report can be filtered by different categories. The report also keeps track of billable and non billable hours.

The project overview reports gives a snapshot of the project showing exactly how much time was spend on all tasks in the project, how much time is left on each task as well as how much time is left on the entire project.  Only data from submitted timesheets is included in this report.

The project console is something unique to 3f Project 2006. When timesheets are submitted by the resources working on a task, one of the requirements is that the resource estimate how many hours he or she has left on the task.  The sum of all the remaining hours for all the resources working on a particular task becomes the total remaining hours for the task. Before these remaining hours are included in the Project Overview report, they must be accepted by the project manager (if you have the Approval Management module) or whoever is in charge of the project if you do not have that module. Finally, tasks are considered finished when the remaining hours = 0. To set a task to finished you must adjust the remaining hours for the task to 0 in the project console.

There is no limit to the number projects you can setup in 3f Project 2006.  When project are setup you can even link them to previous versions of the same project.  Linking a project to another, ensures that any unresolved issues from a previous version of the same project automatically are carried over to the new version.  In addition, the system automatically builds up a version history for the project.

Project(s) can be exported as XML templates.  Exporting a project as an XML file lets you reuse the tasks entered in the source project. That way there is no need for entering standard tasks each time a new project is setup.  The XML file contains all the tasks, task particulars, work breakdown and the linking between tasks (Linking requires the optional Gantt diagram and Planning module).

Most reports can be exported to Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Word (as RTF format).  This is in addition to XML export available in the optional XML module.

Most reports and lists can be printed on any standard printer.
